Freedom House Sends Delegation to Internet Governance Forum
Freedom House sponsored a delegation of nearly 20 internet freedom advocates from more than a dozen countries to attend the 6th annual Internet Governance Forum in Nairobi, Kenya from September 27-31. Delegation members issued a statement on the need to prevent repressive regimes from restricting internet freedom as a means to oppress their people and signed onto a letter on the need to hold Azerbaijan, as the upcoming host country, to IGF standards of openness and free expression.
